Library

Our light-filled library lies at the heart of the FIS - a focus of learning for all our children. The library has networked computers with Internet access for student use. There are tables and chairs for students to do research and study as well as a quiet reading area. The computers are connected to a colour printer. Oliver, our new library management system, provides students with the opportunity to browse the collection and make reservations online from a school PC or from home at http://library.the-fis.de .

With two full-time librarians and a part-time assistant, the FIS library offers the full range of services to students including on-line reference and magazine subscriptions and over 15,000 volumes on site covering reference, fiction and non-fiction in all of the key languages taught at the FIS. Arrangements have also been made for FIS High School students to borrow books from the University of Erlangen library and access the University's collection of e-journals.

The library is open to FIS students and staff from 8.00 till 16.30 during the week (till 15.30 on Tuesdays and 16.00 on Fridays).
