Art, Drama and Music

The Music & Drama departments utilize three teaching rooms as well as the Aula for classes. The Kiga/ES Music room is equipped with many Orff and percussion instruments - xylophones, metallophones and Glockenspiele, as well as a range of drums - congas, bongos, djembe & tambour. There are many non-pitched instruments such as triangles, tambourines, bells, woodblocks, claves, guiro, cabasa, boomwhackers and more. There is a piano for accompanying songs for performance and a music recording collection for listening activities for exploring music history. In addition to this, there is a large space for moving and dancing. The MS/HS Music room is designed as a large ensemble room for band rehearsals, fitted with instrument storage and an interactive whiteboard. The Music Practice room is engaged for small ensembles and for instrumental lessons held in after school hours. The computers in the school IT labs are equipped with a music notation program. The music & drama storage room is filled with further resources with a variety of props and costumes for drama productions. Both the floor and the stage of the Aula are used for many assemblies, musical and theatrical concerts, class and public performances of small and large productions.
